The Rotary Club of Fort Myers South has announced the dates for the 24th Annual John Carrigan Rotary South All-Star Classic. The game will be held the evening of Wednesday, December 5th at Fort Myers High School’s Edison Stadium.
The annual football game showcases the best senior players from Lee County’s public and private high school teams on each other as “North vs. South”. This match-up is one of the final challenges of their high school football careers and is regularly attended by college scouts. Top senior cheerleaders from each school are also included in the event and honors. Participating players and cheerleaders must be nominated by their head coaches, and are eligible to receive recognition as an MVP or scholar-athlete.
A recognition banquet honoring the participants will be held the evening of Monday, December 3rd at Harborside Event Center in Fort Myers. The banquet will feature a notable keynote speaker, still to be announced for the 2012 event. Last year, University of South Florida head football coach Skip Holtz addressed the guests at the banquet.
